Where we started and where we are now - Evie Cantú

In the second to last class we watched a film that was directed entirely with no words, it was meant to be a description on how human civilization has changed over time, I found it interesting for a few different aspects.  I think that something I found interesting was how the music changed throughout the movie. At the start the music was a lot more carefree and energetic in a sense, it felt very light but at the same time still strong. I feel like as the movie progressed the music changed and moved away from that carefree sound; it became more brooding to me. As human’s started to industrialize and as a result they at the same time began to damage the ecosystem and world around them, even the people around them that shift became very evident through the music. Shifting away from the movie, I wanted to also touch on the first and last scene, We are introduced to the movie through a shot of cave paintings, and from then on we start life, at the end of the movie where it shows the rocket ship exploding and it comes back to the cave painting I feel like it could also be interpreted as how at the end of the day, we always return back to Earth and where we started at.
